Special Purpose Vehicles

Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) and Private Investments in Public Entities (PIPEs) form the second tier of Cyrte’s two-tiered investment approach. By setting up SPVs and PIPEs, we facilitate external investor participation in specific investment ideas. Capital-optimization is an added feature for PIPE transactions.

Because we apply a hands-on approach to investing, we are able to maximize returns for stakeholders on both sides of the table. An example of this is our investment in digital marketing agency LBi International NV. Cyrte has invested in LBi via a PIPE transaction together with two partners. We not only provide financial support to LBi, but we also use our sector knowledge to help the company fully benefit from changes in the sector.

LBi is only one of our investments through an SPV. Other companies in which we have taken strategic positions through SPV or PIPE structured transactions include Telegraaf Media Groep and TomTom.
